The following is a contribution post from fellow community member Jolie. Jolie was one of the early pioneers of petite women who completed The Petite Strength Plan when it was undergoing testing.
Jolie—thank you for contributing, it's been amazing watching you transform your body and your feelings towards fitness! So proud of you <3. Without further ado:
"I hated working out. As I’d slip into my control-top leggings and slide into my seemingly brand new Adidas (their wear was no indication of how long I’d owned them), I’d contemplate 101 ways I could get out of going to the gym. Maybe I could jump in front of a moving bus. Maybe I could fake a sudden illness. Maybe I could catch up on the work I’d been procrastinating for weeks. But the vicious cycle of avoiding my workouts only resulted in a pudgier waistline, which left me feeling worse about myself—and in turn even less motivated to exercise.

Then, I found Smalletics. At 5’2, I find that the machines are extremely hard to use and often times don’t facilitate the results I want. I was introduced to the program through an Instagram giveaway (I never pass up an opportunity to win free stuff). When I saw the news about the pilot program for April's 12 week fitness program, The Petite Strength Plan, I submitted an application hoping it would force me into a GTL routine. TBH, when I got in I was a little bummed. That meant I actually had to plan my week around gym visits. But to my surprise, from the very first workout, the experience completely altered my views on fitness and health.

Instead of my monotonous routine of elliptical and sit-ups, I was challenged with a fun and inspiring workout daily. There wasn’t a single exercise that left me feeling bored, and the constant progression of the program challenged me in new ways up until the very end. The program itself was extremely comprehensive, and I walked away with a ton of knowledge not only about fitness, but about fitness for the petite frame. Progress pics and push-up tests served as constant motivation to show up and sweat. Within the first four weeks, I not only looked better, but I found myself thinking more clearly and greeting each morning with a spurt of energy and enthusiasm. Because the program is designed specifically for my body type, the results are staggering at a far faster pace. Even though my three months have concluded, my fitness journey has only just begun. I don’t know who this gym-rat is when I look in the mirror, but I do know that I like her."
